Dogs are smart, there’s no doubt about that. Sometimes, though, it takes them a long time to figure things out.
This dog named Puddy was chilling with his dad one day. Dad was sitting while the pittie was on an elevated folding bed made of canvas.
Dad’s foot was under the dog’s bed, so this hooman had an idea – he’d tease Puddy a little. This dog owner began to rub the pittie’s body with his foot. The pet was understandably bamboozled.
At first, the dog didn’t know what was going on. He’s sure no one else was there with them, even when he glanced around.
Puddy looked confused, and he didn’t like it one bit. The dog wanted answers, so he proceeded to scratch on the bed with the hope to reveal who owned the foot that was giving him free rubs.
After a while, Puddy had enough. Instead of trying to uncover whose foot it was, the dog decided to enjoy the body rub.

Sure enough, Puddy learned the foot belonged to dad. He started to push his body up against his owner’s foot to get more scratches. He wasn’t going to say no to those belly rubs.
This clip is proof that even the smartest dogs can take a little while to catch on. If you ever feel like you seem to take a while to figure things out, just remember that it happens to all.
Don’t feel bad because these canines get it wrong despite their super senses and formidable instincts. We really should learn to go easier on ourselves. After all, we’re mere mortals!
