Dogs are known for their incredible capacity to love and serve their families, even at the risk of their own lives. Countless accounts of how dogs protected their loved ones have circulated online and warmed hearts across the globe.

An amazing story of two loyal pet dogs who stubbornly refused to leave their owner’s side during his time of crisis made rounds across the online community. As paramedics took care of their owner, these pups closely guarded their beloved dad to make sure he was alright. It was a perfect example of how devoted our pets can be.

Jose Pereira, a 47-year-old recyclable collector, collapsed after suffering convulsions. The Emergency staff in Bauru, Sao Paulo, Brazil, rushed to aid him but were stopped by the man’s overprotective dogs, Bob and Chiara. The ambulance driver, Josy Plana, and the nursing technician, Maria de Lourdes Pereira, focused on calming the agitated dogs first before they could finally approach the unconscious man.

While the medical team administered first aid to the poor man, the two dogs hovered nearby, wanting to see if he was fine. When Jose was brought inside the ambulance, the canines immediately hopped in beside him to stay close to his side. The medical team conceded and allowed the two pups to ride along, as they feared the two would chase the ambulance and get hurt.

Security finally prevented the two animals from following their owner inside the hospital. Instead, they positioned themselves by the emergency room doors to await the return of their owner. They settled down and stubbornly waited for Jose to show up.

According to his doctors, Jose had to stay overnight for observation. Fortunately, he was soon declared fit to go home the next day. As he exited the hospital premises, a happy Jose was greeted by the welcome sight of his two devoted protectors.
