Ikea is most well-known for its affordable furniture, simple designs, and outstanding selections of basic must-have items. A lesser-known fact about Ikea is that one of its stores in Italy allows stray dogs to spend the night.

At their Catania location, stray dogs are permitted to lounge or sleep on couches, under tables, at the register, and just about everywhere else. Customers and casual strollers appear unconcerned about the situation. In fact, they like the sight tremendously.

Di Legami Grazielle, a local resident, snapped a photo of the dogs in the store and remarked that she enjoys seeing them there. According to her, Ikea assists homeless dogs by opening their doors during the winter and summer seasons. There, the animals receive shelter, food, and water, and are constantly monitored by volunteers.

She stated that she wasn’t expecting to find them in a furniture store, so it was a pleasant surprise to see them there for the first time. She added that while the strong hold the door open for the weak, love continues to flourish throughout the universe. And this Ikea store is definitely a great example.

In addition to caring for stray dogs, Italians are well-known for their devotion to pets, particularly dogs. There is a grocery store with a dog-specific shopping cart. Even in Rimini, there is a beach that only allows dog owners to enter.

The provision of a warm place for dogs to stay when it is cold or snowing outside has been done by a large number of businesses in Europe. Reportedly, a mall in Istanbul provides shelter to stray dogs during freezing temperatures, and a coffee shop in Greece opens its doors every night to stray dogs.

Thank you for doing this! We hope that many more establishments follow your great example!
