Bueller arrived at the Sacramento SPCA after his breeder-owner realized he’s never going to make money out of him. He’s adorable, but he was born with a congenital defect. He was in really bad shape and he couldn’t walk or stand on his own.

At six weeks, some people thought the only option was to put him down. He’ll never be able to stand and will never have a normal life, that’s what they said. But Dr. Laurie Siperstein-Cook, SSPCA’s Chief of Shelter Medicine, saw Bueller’s will to live so she knew that their one and only option was to try regardless of how much work it takes.

Bueller immediately began his therapy. He had difficulties but he strived. He always had the determination to get what he wants and he wanted to live so he fought for his life.

In about a couple of weeks, this handsome Bulldog puppy demonstrated great improvements. He managed to stand on his own. And pretty soon, he walked without help and even ran a few times. That’s when his rescuers knew he was going to have a good life.

Sacramento SPCA shared Bueller’s story on social media. It inspired a lot of people, including Alex and Lindsay Taylor, who lost their dog a few months ago. They loved for him to be part of their family and they knew he belonged with them.

Lindsay and Alex admitted they were very nervous the night before Bueller came home. But once they had him, all their worries disappeared. They loved him from the very start.

Bueller was a bit timid for the first few days, but after visiting the ocean, his personality came out. He became more confident and he knew there’s much more he can do. He never let something stop or slow him down.

Bueller’s recovery and development are certainly amazing. He’s full of life, and he’s fortunate that he met the right people. Bueller is one true fighter.
