Fostering a puppy is one of the most rewarding things that you can ever do. Fostering dogs free up space in animal shelters so they can rescue more dogs. It also means that it decreases the need to euthanize dogs to make room for other rescues that have more potential to get adopted.
Fostering dogs also mean you’re taking a dog out of a shelter and into a home environment where they can learn how to behave once they’re adopted. Dogs that are fostered experience what it’s like to be in a forever home with a loving family, which makes it easier for them to adjust when they are finally adopted. It’s also a fulfilling experience where you get to save a creature’s life.
A woman named Anne and her roommate decided that they wanted to foster a puppy. Anne and her roommate got a sassy little dog named Snax. Snax would growl and bark at Anne and her roommate and didn’t know how to behave in a house. Like most puppies, Snax had a lot of energy that needed to be spent.
Thankfully, Anne had a large pit bull named Thunder, who turned out to be a great teacher for Snax. Thunder was a little curious when he first met little Snax. Thunder spent a lot of time sniffing Snax and figure out what it is. Thunder was really friendly with Snax, and it didn’t take long for Snax to bond with Thunder.
Thunder was an amazing mentor for Snax and would teach him how to behave. Snax figured out how to follow commands, such as sit by copying Thunder, and he also learned how to walk with a leash. Snax follows Thunder around and would always do what Thunder does.
Thunder made the process of fostering Snax a lot easier for Anne. Snax also learned how to be a good dog, which made him a delight to have for his new family in his new forever home. Anne, her roommate, and Thunder were a little sad when they had to give Snax to his new mom, but they’re all happy that they took part in helping Snax learn how to be a good dog.
